Biography
Jean-Martin Vincent is a highly skilled visual artist and calligrapher, specialized in the intricate art forms of watercolor, Latin calligraphy, and Japanese calligraphy (shodō). With a National Art Diploma from ISBA Besançon, his artistic talents encompass a wide range of themes, from symbolism ,botany and gemmology, all aimed at capturing the essence of natural beauty and landscapes.
What sets Jean-Martin’s work apart is his incorporation of Japanese kanji, adding a cultural and linguistic dimension to his creations. Additionally, he is currently exploring the fascinating realms of grapho-olfactory art and jewelry design, pushing the boundaries of artistic expression.
Jean-Martin is a flutist and flute teacher, passionate about music history. For him, music and painting are not separate disciplines, but rather different expressions of the same source of inspiration. That’s why he creates works that echo the beauty and harmony that can be found in music.
Located in Sélestat, France, Jean-Martin regularly shares his extensive expertise and knowledge with others through masterclasses and courses in various disciplines especially Shodō (japanese calligraphy). His dedication to honing his craft and sharing his passion highlights his commitment to preserving and advancing the art of calligraphy and Japanese aesthetics.
